It's raining again... just like last week...

I'm really quite thrilled that it's raining and the cold weather comforts me. I just love the rain and the cold. If it isn't raining outside, I'll curl up on one the chairs out on the patio with a cup of hot tea and a really good book. But if it's raining, I'll be curled up in the house doing the same thing and maybe take a couple of photographs which I did last week.

I've been wanting to bake pumpkin pie purely from scratch... none of those canned pumpkin stuff. So I chopped up the pumpkin that Mike's mom gave us during Halloween. She says the pumpkins keep until April, but really, do you want Halloween/Fall decoration during Easter? But that's how she is, she's the typical Asian that will keep anything... you know... refrigerate, refrigerate, REFRIGERATE! I felt somewhat bad for chopping the pumpkin up, but pumpkins are made for eating after they've been used for decorating!

Black Friday is actually here, but Mike and I decided to forgo waking up at the crack of dawn to line up at a store to purchase some items. We decided to sleep in and went to the stores that had ample amounts of the items we wanted. I finally got a camera to replace the one that I gave Christina. It isn't the Nikon Cool Pix Touch Screen, but still better than the old Sony Cybershot that I've been using. Mike will end up using it again as his underwater Video Camera and I don't have to exhaust his or my underwater Sea and Sea camera to take snap shots! Of course, I also bought some make-up whilst Mike bought some tools (tools not pictured).

Black Friday Shopping!

Yep... What a great way to end the month and this Sunday, we'll be making some homemade pizza. Yummy!

Today my best friend put her mom under hospice care.

Three years ago, this time of year, my mom was dying; she died and then 4 relatives and a friend, all women, died. In just over a year.

I put on twenty pounds and watched my personality change in weird and unattractive ways. I'm getting better now -- lots of self therapy & that extra weight is coming off. I'm entirely different, but kind of back to the regular, strong, caring me.

It's hard to truly remember the stress and turmoil of life while watching mom die. I'm trying to think of help I could have used then so that I can do something to help my friend.

It is 6:11 a.m. and I'm back from my trip to Target.

Yes people, I was a black Friday door buster!!!

I set my alarm for 4:50 and I got to the local Target just as the door was opening at 5:00. The line was crazy long, but everyone was calm, orderly, and friendly. Virtually everybody entering headed straight to the back of the store where the electronics section is located. By the time I got to electronics, all of the 32" LCD TVs on sale for $246 were gone. Target, apparently, had all of the TVs set up in shopping carts lined up along the aisles of the stores and people just came in and grabbed one of the carts. As I went to Target specifically only to pick up that specific TV I was a bit disappointed, but decided that since I was up and about I might as well take a look around. A few minutes into my wandering, I came across a single 32" sale TV sitting on the floor at the end of one of the aisles. Apparently, someone got swept up in the excitement and rush of the opening, then decided that they didn't want the TV after all. S-C-O-R-E!!!

I picked up some extra Coldeze and I was out of Target by 5:40. I took a bunch of pictures of the crowd and of my TV in the back of the Jeep, but alas, I seem to have packed my USB to mini-USB cord and I can't download the pics (I'm too cheap to have a data plan for my phone so I can't even email the pic to myself ...).

But then, I got a 32" LCD TV for $246 plus a $10 Target gift card ... S-C-O-R-E!!!
