Couch to 5k -- another update

Comments

Good for you Cori! Progess should be all the motivation you need.

Two tips, if I may present them: (assuming you said ok)...

*Invest in a good pair of running shoes. They're not cheap, but absolutely necessary as you add time and distance to your runs.

*I recall from one of your past posts that you're not a music person...I personally can't live without it, and need it especially on my runs to distract my screaming lungs and shin splints. You might want to try an audio book or *gasp* a self help podcast, etc.

Good luck!

Thank you!

I have a fairly nice pair of running shoes (that weren't cheap), but I'll probably upgrade at some point. My roommate really needs to upgrade -- I can't believe how far she runs in her old shoes!

If I run by myself, I grab my iPod which has a On The Go playlist that works. But usually I have my roommate and together we motivate each other. It's great!

I used to run a lot back in college. I only ran 5Ks a few times, but they were a lot of fun. My dad came up to my school once and ran in one of the 5Ks with me. We have a hilarious picture of him crossing the finish line. There's a little girl of about 8 or 9 finishing in front of him. I'm sure kids beat me (as I was never a very good runner), but at least there's no photographic evidence.

Well, good luck with your running program.
Fantastic Job... Week 5 is when the C25k starts to get tough. I bet your loving that runners high, enjoy it!

I've had to stop at weeks 6, its just too cold at this time of year to run. Looks like I'll have to pick it back up in the spring again.
That is an awesome story. I'd have that picture put on a pillow or something.
It's getting fairly chilly here (by California standards). We ran in the rain one evening, which wasn't actually too bad. Luckily it never snows, so the most we have to worry about is the cold and the wet. Good luck when you start up in the spring!
