His name is Dr. House.
I've been doing some freelance work today (working on weekends. Sigh.). I've NetFlixed House M.D. and have had it on all day while I've been working. This show is great! I like the characters and the mysteries and House's brown All Stars (perhaps that's because I'm wearing the same pair...). I have loved Hugh Laurie for a long time (has anyone here read his book, the Gun Seller? -- I thought it was a lot of fun (see below)), and now I know why. He's FANTASTIC. What a great actor! He's funny and sarcastic and I swear there's a heart under there somewhere. And he has insane blue eyes. And he uses his cane on the wrong side just to piss off the physical therapists. How can you not love that?
What do you all think?
If you're interested, here's a great exerpt from Laurie's book:
"She came towards me and stopped. She was shorter than she'd looked on the other side of the room. I smiled again, and she took a cigarette from the packet, but didn't light it. She just played with it slowly, and then pointed a pair of green eyes at me.
I say a pair. I mean her pair. She didn't get a pair of someone else's eyes out from a drawer and point them at me. She pointed her own pair of huge, pale, grey, pale, huge eyes at me. The sort of eyes that can make a grown man talk gibberish to himself. Get a grip, for Christ's sake."
Heh.

Yeah, I've pretty much been in love with him from Day 1. House is excellent, and it has great writing and a great supporting cast (although Chase totally gets on my nerves), but Hugh Laurie is the true secret of its success.
I've been wanting to check out his book. I suppose that's yet one more to add to the pile. I wish there were more than 24 hours in the day.
I'm so in love with House and Hugh Laurie. I just get skeeved out when I realize Hugh is the exact same age as my Dad. Ick.
