Sayonara Big Wall of Circles!
Today my parents (the best EVER) and I tackled painting the Big Wall of Circles. As you can see in the photo below, the large wall in my living/dining room was painted by a Model Home Designer, who decided that they would not paint the big brown circles behind that big piece of art and the mirror (the circles actually stop at the edges of the art -- it's ridiculous). Which meant that if I wanted to hang different-shaped art (which I do), that I would have to paint. Luckily the builder left a bucket of the teal paint in the garage and I'm definitely okay with keeping it that same color.
Four coats later, the circles are just barely visible. And only if you're standing over by the sliding door. Squint, and you can't see them at all! My parents are coming back tonight -- I think we'll throw another coat on there for good measure. Just because I don't want to force all my visitors to be all squinty.
My brother and future SIL bought me a fabulous painting of two birds on a wire for Christmas, so I'll add it to the few other pieces I've collected. A few photos are below (heh -- I just typed "phew fotos"). I'm going to hang them on the left side of the room, and hang the mirror back on the right. As I collect more art, I'm going to continue the gallery feel all the way down the wall.
