When Borders closes, Cori wins.

I love Dorothy Parker.

When I get paid again, I plan on getting this: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0385341695/ref=ord_cart_shr?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance

It sounds really good.

Awesome! I still like browsing in Borders or B&N, though honestly, I don't get most of my books there anymore either. I looked for Mitchell at my local library last weekend, and they didn't have any... :(

I'm so glad you got Claiborne, so now you can tell me how he is. And I'm telling you, if all of Sex God is as good as the first three pages, I think you'll really like it. And if you don't, please forgot I practically foamed at the mouth recommending it to you.

Love your typewriter.
I've never heard of that book, but MAN, is that a gorgeous cover!
Boo for not having Mitchell! I had to buy another copy of Black Swan Green (which I just abbreviated as BSG, but thought that most of my hood would think I was talking about Battlestar Galactica...) since a friend borrowed my copy and never returned it. You'll have to request it from some other library. He's so good.
I'm excited for both books! I saw Bell speak on the Sex God topic, so I'm interested in the book. I'll let you know how the Claiborne turns out!

Of course, I can't start reading them until 2009...
I love Borders and I couldn't believe that one of the Borders in Sacramento is closing their doors. I've already alerted my other half that we would be making a special trip to that store. He groans as there isn't enough room for all my books in my home office. *Sigh* despite the lack of space...I'm still buying!
Does the typewriter work? I have two typewriters like that in the garage. Well, not EXACTLY like that - just the old manual kind. Both are suspect. One was my sisters and when I was maybe 5, I was ALWAYS told to stay away from it. It was in my dad's room (mom and dad were in different rooms growing up, which no doubt is what kept them together for 50+ years). One morning while he was sleeping I went to play with it, and it was like "type, type, type" - SLAM! And the whole thing fell on the floor. Man, did he yell! I still have it - dents and all. The other one I found in the garbage, but it looks neat.
Apparently it does! I haven't used it yet, but I was guaranteed that it indeed does work. I think it might need a new ribbon, though. I love how it looks, especially up in my office with all the books!
