When Borders closes, Cori wins.
Our local Borders is going out of business. I rarely shop there since I usually get my books at used book stores, local small retailers, through bookins.com, or on Amazon (which is probably why Borders is toast). Anyway, I stopped by their 40%+ clearance and picked up a few things.
A little wooden greeting card with a bluebird on it
A new journal for 2009
The Lost Continent - Bill Bryson
Irresistible Revolution - Shane Claiborne
Sex God - Rob Bell
Carry On, Jeeves - PG Wodehouse
Firefly on DVD
Black Swan Green - David Mitchell
The Annotated Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen
The Portable Dorothy Parker - Dorothy Parker
All for the bargain price of $109! Feels like a jackpot. Would have bought more but I thought I was spending more money than I was, so I put a few things back. Might stop by later this evening, or tomorrow. I need plenty of reading material for my 2009 Book Challenge! I'm up to nearly $2,000 in pledges -- if you haven't sponsored me yet, I would love it if you could!
Also see my lovely old Remington typewriter I got from my aunt for Christmas! So fun.

I love Dorothy Parker.
When I get paid again, I plan on getting this: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0385341695/ref=ord_cart_shr?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance
It sounds really good.
Love your typewriter.
Of course, I can't start reading them until 2009...
